I love green smoothies – I have them pretty much every day during the week at 10am to fight my explosive hanger. This one is a classic go to appropriate for erryday.
1 banana, chopped (frozen banana gives a better texture but fresh is fine)
1 cup non sweetened almond milk
1 large handful of baby spinach (don’t be shy)
4-5 ice cubes
1 Green Smoothie Company Green Is Good sachet
To top (all optional but delicious – or use whatever you have at home):
1 tablespoon shredded unsweetened coconut
1 tablespoon cacao nibs
1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon pepitas
2 tablespoons fresh raw almonds, chopped
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Few twists of cracked vanilla
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add all the smoothie ingredients into a blender and blend until super smooth.
Pour into your loveliest bowl.
Top with all of your favourite toppings – I have outlined mine above, however anything like fresh strawberries, figs, dates or other fruit, nuts and seeds are excellent healthy additions to your bowl. If this is going to be a meal, feel free to bulk it up with chia seeds, oats or raw granola – the smoothie is an excellent replacement for milk over muesli!
Consume immediately or within the day – note it will probably turn brownish if left in the fridge for a few hours but it will still taste great.
