I love beetroot but I never know what to do with it. It’s one of the vegetables that’s super good for you and I like to buy but always do the same thing with. So when someone at work told me they made a beetroot smoothie I shat bricks. I had to get in on this!
Beets are a unique source of phytonutrients called betalains which give it that beautiful red colour and are shown to provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and detoxification support. Beets loose nutrients as they cook so it is best to keep cooking under 15 minutes, or consume raw. 1 cup of beets provide 34% RDI folate, 28% RDI manganese and high amounts of potassium, copper and more.

Ingredients
- 1 beetroot, peeled and chopped
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon chia
- 1 tablespoon linseed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 4 tablespoons cacao
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- Pinch Himalayan salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Wang it all into a blender and waz it all up!
- Serve over ice.
